Hos.6.1

Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.

Hos.6.1

"Come on, let's go back to GOD. He hurt us, but he'll heal us. He hit us hard, but he'll put us right again.

"Come, let us return to the LORD. He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us; he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds.

Come, and let us return to the LORD; For He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up.

"Come, let us return to the LORD! He has torn us in pieces; now he will heal us. He has injured us; now he will bandage our wounds.

Hos.6.2

After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

Hos.6.2

In a couple of days we'll feel better. By the third day he'll have made us brand-new, Alive and on our feet, fit to face him.

Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

Hos.6.3

We're ready to study GOD, eager for God-knowledge. As sure as dawn breaks, so sure is his daily arrival. He comes as rain comes, as spring rain refreshing the ground." [JC]

Hos.6.3

Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth."

Hos.6.3

Let us know, Let us pursue the knowledge of the LORD. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, Like the latter and former rain to the earth.

Hos.6.3

Oh, that we might know the LORD! Let us press on to know him! Then he will respond to us as surely as the arrival of dawn or the coming of rains in early spring."

Hos.6.4

O Ephraim, what shall I do unto thee? O Judah, what shall I do unto thee? for your goodness is as a morning cloud, and as the early dew it goeth away.

Hos.6.4

"What am I to do with you, Ephraim? What do I make of you, Judah? Your declarations of love last no longer than morning mist and predawn dew.

"What can I do with you, Ephraim? What can I do with you, Judah? Your love is like the morning mist, like the early dew that disappears.

Hos.6.4

"O Ephraim, what shall I do to you? O Judah, what shall I do to you? For your faithfulness is like a morning cloud, And like the early dew it goes away.

"O Israel and Judah, what should I do with you?" asks the LORD. "For your love vanishes like the morning mist and disappears like dew in the sunlight.

Hos.6.5

Therefore have I hewed them by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of my mouth: and thy judgments are as the light that goeth forth.

That's why I use prophets to shake you to attention, why my words cut you to the quick: To wake you up to my judgment blazing like light.

Therefore I cut you in pieces with my prophets, I killed you with the words of my mouth; my judgments flashed like lightning upon you.

Therefore I have hewn them by the prophets, I have slain them by the words of My mouth; And your judgments are like light that goes forth.

I sent my prophets to cut you to pieces. I have slaughtered you with my words, threatening you with death. My judgment will strike you as surely as day follows night.

For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

I'm after love that lasts, not more religion. I want you to know GOD, not go to more prayer meetings.

For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings.

For I desire mercy and not sacrifice, And the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

Hos.6.6

I want you to be merciful; I don't want your sacrifices. I want you to know God; that's more important than burnt offerings.

Hos.6.7

But they like men have transgressed the covenant: there have they dealt treacherously against me.

You broke the covenant--just like Adam! You broke faith with me--ungrateful wretches!

Like Adam, they have broken the covenant- they were unfaithful to me there.

"But like men they transgressed the covenant; There they dealt treacherously with Me.

"But like Adam, you broke my covenant and rebelled against me.

Gilead is a city of them that work iniquity, and is polluted with blood.

Hos.6.8

"Gilead has become Crime City--blood on the sidewalks, blood on the streets.

Hos.6.8

Gilead is a city of wicked men, stained with footprints of blood.

Hos.6.8

Gilead is a city of evildoers And defiled with blood.

Hos.6.8

Gilead is a city of sinners, tracked with footprints of blood.

Hos.6.9

And as troops of robbers wait for a man, so the company of priests murder in the way by consent: for they commit lewdness.

Hos.6.9

It used to be robbers who mugged pedestrians. Now it's gangs of priests Assaulting worshipers on their way to Shechem. Nothing is sacred to them.

Hos.6.9

As marauders lie in ambush for a man, so do bands of priests; they murder on the road to Shechem, committing shameful crimes.

Hos.6.9

As bands of robbers lie in wait for a man, So the company of priests murder on the way to Shechem; Surely they commit lewdness.

Hos.6.9

Its citizens are bands of robbers, lying in ambush for their victims. Gangs of priests murder travelers along the road to Shechem and practice every kind of sin.

Hos.6.10

I have seen an horrible thing in the house of Israel: there is the whoredom of Ephraim, Israel is defiled.

"I saw a shocking thing in the country of Israel: Ephraim worshiping in a religious whorehouse, and Israel in the mud right there with him.

I have seen a horrible thing in the house of Israel. There Ephraim is given to prostitution and Israel is defiled.

I have seen a horrible thing in the house of Israel: There is the harlotry of Ephraim; Israel is defiled.

Hos.6.10

Yes, I have seen a horrible thing in Israel: My people have defiled themselves by chasing after other gods!

Hos.6.11

Also, O Judah, he hath set an harvest for thee, when I returned the captivity of my people.

Hos.6.11

"You're as bad as the worst of them, Judah. You've been sowing wild oats. Now it's harvest time.

"Also for you, Judah, a harvest is appointed. "Whenever I would restore the fortunes of my people,

Also, O Judah, a harvest is appointed for you, When I return the captives of My people.

Hos.6.11

"O Judah, a harvest of punishment is also waiting for you, though I wanted so much to restore the fortunes of my people!
